Your Response Matters

Anytime God wants to do something on this earth, he looks for willing vessels to work through.

What was Marys response when God asked for passage?
What should our response be when God asked for passage in our life?

Luke 1: 26-31 I am the Lords servant, Mary answered. Be it unto me according to thy word.

Two key points in Marys response:

1. I am the Lords Servant

* Mary acknowledged who the servant is and who the Master is.
* Too many of us want to be the Master and think God is our servant.

1 Cor. 6: 19-20 Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are Gods.

Jeremiah 18:6 and Isaiah 64:8 God says I am the potter, you are the clay.

Until you understand this, you will always struggle obeying & surrendering to God. 

2. Be it unto me according to Your Word

These words show us two thing about Mary.

1. She Trusted God
2. She had Faith in His WORD.

Trust is usually associated with relationships.  In Marys case this isGod
Faith is usually associated with an act. That something will happen.

She TRUSTED God

Knowing what could happen, Mary trusted her life in His hands.

* The possibility that being stoned to death awaited Mary for saying yes
* When God invites you to be a part of HIS purpose… do you trust Him?

She had FAITH in God

She believed that what God said would happen. Do You?

Mary conceived the Word of God (Jesus) in the womb of her spirit.
* She had to believe it by faith
* Then she received it by faith

Gods Word is the incorruptible seed.

* When Gods word it is properly conceived in the human spirit it manifested itself in her physical body.
