The Difference a Mother Makes

Mother teach us many things:
RELIGION:  When spilled grape juice on the carpet, she instructed, You better pray that stain comes out.

LOGIC:  From her decisive words, Because I said so, thats why.

FORESIGHT:  Make sure you wear clean underwear, in case you are in an accident.

IRONY:  Keep laughing and I will give you something to cry about.

STAMINA:  You will sit there until that spinach is finished.

THE CIRCLE OF LIFE:  I brought you into this world, and I can take you out.

But seriously

This morning I would like us to reflect on the greatest and most profound way a mother can make a difference in the lives of her children.  Through her prayers.

A mother can do many things for her children.

* She can teach them, love them, instruct them, be an example for them,
* but if she is not praying for them.
* She is leaving them unprotected from the world and the prince of this world who desires is to kill steal and destroy. 

When the world is all too quick to give up on people, a mother will NEVER give up on her children.

A mothers love will cause her to wrestle with God.
Till she sees an answer.

Like Jacob wrestling with God Gen 32: 22-26

Jacob got to the point in his life that enough was enough.
* He was tired of running
* He was tired of his life.
* He knew that if Gold didnt do SOMETHING, he wasnt going to make it.
* And he knew that if he gave up, he would never see his blessing.
* A mother is the same, she knows that she is the last line of defense (if not the only line of defense) for her children

I have seen many a mothers do this very thing, they will refuse to give up.
* No matter what their children are in
* No matter their attitude
* No matter their sin.

Even when there is nothing physically a mother can do for her children, She will PRAY.

A praying mother is never a defeated mother.
She always has hope.
She believes like no other person can for her wayward son, for her sick daughter.

A mother will never give up on her children. NEVER.
