The 4 Ws of Missions

What

Simply put, mission is bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who dont know him as Lord and Savior.

Matthew 28:18-20 All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Why

Romans 10:13-15 For whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.  How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?  And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!

Why evangelize?
Why go on mission trips?
Why share the Gospel?

Because you know and they do not.

Where

Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

* Jerusalem.  (Those closest to me.)
* Judea and Samaria.  (United States)
* Ends of the earth. (Other Nations)

When

ALWAYS.

As long as there are people who do not know the name of Christ.

Matt 9:36-38 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

Even if we do not go ourselves, we still have a mandate to send those who are ready to go into the harvest field of world missions
