Open My Eyes - Pt. 1 Spiritual Warfare

Why is discernment (the opening of our spiritual eyes) so necessary?

3. See people as God does

Today we will be looking at the first reason we need to have our eyes opened.

Spiritual Warfare Eph 6: 10-12
How do we know that there is a spiritual realm if we cannot see it?

Many believers and unbelievers today do not want to deal with a world we cannot see when the world we do see is hard enough to deal with.

Lets start in the beginning:

Luke 10: 71-18 ”I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.”
Isaiah 14:12-15 ...You have been cast down to the earth…
Rev. 12:3-4 ...And his tail swept away a third of the stars of heaven.

Satan hates mankind because God loves Mankind, and he will do anything to destroy us.

The theif comes to Steal, kill and destroy John 10:10

Eph 6:10-12 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devils schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Therefore if we have an enemy, that means we must be in a war.

But to fear would be to give him the victory. We are on the winning side.

2 Kings 6:15-18 Elisha prayed, “O LORD, open his eyes so he may see.”

Then the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 

We need to realize that Satan is real, and that he has with him evil forces that are able to do works of damage against the Church, a Nation, and individuals. 

Unless we open our eyes to the Spiritual Realm:
* waste all our energy fighting the wrong battle (flesh).
* and leave nothing for the Kingdom of God.

Too many believers are living a defeated life because they are in the wrong battle.

And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more,
with knowledge and all discernment. Philippians 1:9
