King or Kingdom

Esther 2:15-17

Today far too many Christians are enamored with the finite finery and earthly benefits of Gods kingdom rather than its King.

While all the other young girls fell in love with the palace, the prestige, the opulent luxury of their surrounding; Esther fell in love with the king. 

So why and how did she fall in love with someone she never met?

THE CHAMBERLAIN (A spiritual mentor; a type of Holy Spirit.)

As a chamberlain, Hegai had privileged access to the inner chambers, and he understood in detail the temperament of the king.He knew his likes and his dislikes and how and why his favor flowed.

Esther knew so much about the King through Hegai
* They would sit for hours and talk about the King
* Esther would listen to Hegai talk and you could hear her saying
* It was through her knowing him that enabled her to love him.

Esther demonstrates an important life lesson: Those you listen to will determine your success. 

WE MUST DO MORE THAN LISTEN

James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, do what it says.

Esther 2:15 she asked for nothing other than what Hegai, the kings eunuch suggested.

We do not succeed by doing what we please. We succeed by doing what HE pleases.

Success comes when we heed the wisdom passed down from the Kings chamberlain about what most pleases the King.

Concubines may have had an experience with the King. 
It is the bride that has the King always.

Esther was forced into the palace, but she was not forced into love. That was her choice.

Esthers Love for the King grew as she learned about him.

Whatever reason brought you into the church.
My prayer is that you will earnestly seek HIM and move deeper into his courts.
