Fathers Who Lead

Suggestions to get the ball rolling in terms of How to lead my family

By Example

We as parents can get sucked into the trap of thinking that rules and discipline can get our child to do whats right.

God gave his children some 600+ rules about how He wanted to be worshipped and what right living looked like. It didnt work, did it.

In partnership with your wife

* Leadership is something you must agree on together.

It is important to remember here that a difference in roles doesn’t necessarily imply unequal.

Like a Servant

Servant Leadership means to take heed of great advice from a Leader who said such things as:

* The last shall be first.
* If you want to be great, act like a servant
* He didnt come to be served, but to serve.

From your knees

You are the New covenant priest of your home
(I didnt say boss, I said priest.)

* You need to teach your children about their fathers God.
* The greatest thing you can do for your family is PRAY for them.

With humility

Effective leaders are not in it for themselves; they are in it for the organization.

Family leaders place their personal needs behind that of the family.

Morally

Moral leadership gains authority through right living.
Be the kind of dad the family looks up to because you live with such evident goodness.

With an open heart and mind

Be ready to admit when you are wrong, quick to apologize, and open to discussion.

Please dont be afraid to show your children your failures, your mistakes. They will learn from them.

Lead with the sure understanding that, if you dont, someone else will

A leadership vacuum will occur if parents step away from the opportunity.
Leading your family is not only your right. It is your responsibility.

Men, my challenge to you this Fathers Day is to be a man.
Be strong, lead your family well, teach your childrend and encourage them to walk in a manner worthy of Jeuss, and love your wife as Christ loved the church.
