Do You see what I see?

When you look into the manger and see the babe, what do you see?

Mary and Joseph brought their first-born boy to the temple to be dedicated to God.  Lev.12

Old Simeon had been promised by God that he would see the Messiah, the Anointed One of God, before he died.

Lord, now let your servant depart in peace.  Now let your servant die, for my eyes have seen.  I have seen your salvation that you have prepared for all people, for those who are Jews and for those who are not Jews.  Lord God, I can depart in peace for my eyes have finally seen.Luke 2:21-35.

When Simeon looked at this baby Jesus
* He didnt see just brown hair, brown eyes & brown skin of a little baby.
* He saw the long awaited Messiah,
* He saw Gods Salvation.

This morning, Simeon asks of us the question:
* Do you see?  Do you see?
* What do you see?
* What do you see when you see the Christ child?

There are two words in the Greek language for SEE.

* blepo. I see you.  I see the poinsettias.  I see the manger scene.
* horao means to see deeply.  It is not sight, but insight.

So what do we learn from this Simeon?

* It is only those who understand they need a Savior who will seek a Savior.
* It is only those who seek their Savior who will see their Savior
* It is only those who see their Savior will find peace, completion and satisfaction.

But He is no ordinary child. HE IS EMMANUEL.

* Do you see that about him?
* Do You see what I see?
