Called to Action

Parable of the Good Samaritan. Luke 10: 25-37

Notice in this parable Jesus went a little further in describing to his follower that loving our neighbor entails more than just words.

Loving our neighbor is a Call to Action.

By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.  John 13:35

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.  1 Corinthians 13:1

The real proof of a Christian is our love walk.

Jesus uses three characters to portray the different kinds of people the hurting will encounter.

1. A Priest

2. A Levite

Both of these characters represent those who are too busy being religious to see anything else.

Why do we walk around the hurting and say I will pray for you but do nothing?
* We do not want to get our hands dirty
* We do not want to inconvience our lives. 

Isaiah 58: 5-10 describes the kind of acceptable fast.

3. A Samaritan

Not only did he stop and tend to him.
* He went out of his way to get him to some place where he could heal.
* And he paid for it.

You must choice what group you will be in the Religious who look good but do nothing, or the second group the will go out of your way to show someone Gods Love.

People do not care how much you know, until they know how much you care.

Let me ask you, If you were unable to communicate through words, would people know you are a follower of Christ by your actions?
